Life is but moments, all tied into one,
A race against time, although never done,
An unwritten book, great volumes reveal,
Our history thru time, and all that we feel.
Life has with it treasures, of family and friends,
A shoulder to lean on, when one's need depends,
A sharing of laughter, or a voice to debate,
A touch or a kiss; that always feels great.
For Kaye and George, I write you this poem,
To honor dear friendship, did recently roam,
Great sadness of parting, the distance so great,
To the care of their family, to this I elate.
The City they left, is really quite small,
Over the decades, they knew almost all,
Our City will miss them, that is for sure,
They carry our love, a love that's so pure.
We treasure the moments, that highlight our book,
Of life and great friends, our thoughts often look,
Our time that we've spent, together as one,
Regrets of life's race, that forced time to run.
Their home is now far, as far as can be,
With visits now rare, as personally see,
A friendship this strong, will bridge any gap,
Regardless the distance, beyond any map.
We love you, Kaye and George.
Bert, Doreen, Emily, Jevan and all your friends.
