INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT SCHOOL
It is fact that in Canada and the United States, flying is very affordable
compared with other countries.
It is much more cost effective for International student pilots to obtain their
flying training in this country, and to arrange annual flying vacations here.
These students are here on a time
restricted mission and are therefore very committed. Once licensed, some of these pilots will incorporate their new achievement
with the relative freedom and cost benefits to rent an aircraft and explore our country.
Elliot Lake is very
unique. We have a very well maintained underutilized airport. Housing is very affordable to the extent that a townhouse can
be purchased for about $25,000, and ideally converted to a dorm and classroom. The airport also has a room that can be converted
to a classroom. The staff is always accommodating and eager to assist where possible. Elliot Lake is a full service community
and located a mere 5 miles from the airport.
LAND AVAILABLE SURROUNDING AIRPORT
The airport has undeveloped land around its perimeter that can be utilized
for industry. Taxiway access could be negotiated for those wanting access between the runway and their corporate office.
ADVENTURE TOURISM
Elliot Lake is a full service community that specializes in outdoor activities.
These activities range from the passive to extreme, physical to motorized. Such may include hiking, canoeing, fishing, hunting,
ATV or snowmachining, cliff or hill climbing, exploring ....... just to name a few.
In as much as a person can
purchase an all inclusive vacation to the Dominican Republic where one purchase price includes all activities and costs, such
can also be made available in this community under the term adventure tourism. A person buys a package for one or several
activities where all related transportation, equipment, guides, and costs are involved.
No doubt many of the
tourist operators and lodges within the area would be of great assistance and would welcome their involvement in this endeavor.
